Way to Lose Weight

Don’t skip meals – Ignoring meals, isn't going to cut down on your calories and in turn cause you to lose weight. You’ll actually do more harm than good because you’ll be so hungry that you’ll just end up eating whatever you can get your hands on at your next meal. The reason is that your blood sugar plummets if you don’t eat, causing you to feel famished and since you missed one meal, emotionally you feel the urge to consume more at your next meal. Another reason why skipping meals is so bad for you is that is slows down your metabolism because your body thinks there are not enough sources of nourishments available.

Let there be light – Did you know that the dimmer the light is in a room, the more likely it is you'll eat more food? Some doctors theorize that low lights cause you to feel more relaxed and less self-conscious and therefore it’s ok to eat more. The brighter the dining area, the less food you'll consume. You may want to adjust the lighting in the rooms where you eat most often.

Say hello to the sun – Despite all the warnings that tell you to stay out of the sun due to skin cancer risks, sunlight is essential to your health. It produces the feel-good hormone called serotonin, which lessens food cravings for sugar and other bad-for-you carbs. So next time you get the uncontrollable urge for sweets, talk a walk outside instead. Keep the windows in your home and office open and bright all day can make your diet easier too.

Get your sneakers on – Your risk of become obese increases by six percent for every hour you spend in your car each day. That stat is almost scary, isn’t it? However, on a daily basis every mile you walk leads to an eight percent reduction. Now you can see why getting in a small amount of exercise is so important. The trick is to stay active whenever possible. One way is to pace back and forth next time you’re on the phone or maybe some lunges or squats. Get up and walk around a little bit during commercial breaks. Walking up and down the stairs is probably one of the best things you could so in a small amount of time.

Calm down – High stress levels increase your chances of becoming fat. Getting angry raises cortisol levels, which is a stress hormone, and will cause you to quickly gain weight. The angrier you get and more stressed out you are; the more likely is for you to put on pounds around your waist.
