• Frequent urination
• Fatigue
• Frequent thirsty

Diabetes Risk Factors & Diabetes Treating

Here are some diabetes risk factors:
• Family members with diabetes
• Obesity
• Older than 45 years
• High blood pressure
• High level of triglycerides
• High blood cholesterol level
• Insufficient exercise

Type 1
People with Type 1 diabetes require insulin replacement therapy. There are 4 types of insulin preparations, namely ultra-short acting, short acting, intermediated acting or long acting. Each day, a combination of these insulin preparations are given, depending on the prescribed regimen.

Types 2
If you have been recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, you may need to consume a balanced diet which spreads carbohydrate, and exercise regularly to treat your diabetes. If both measures are not keeping your blood sugar at a normal level, your doctor may prescribe one or more oral medications.

These medications:
• Decrease the tissues’ resistant to insulin
• Stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin
• Slows down the absorption of carbohydrate to control blood sugar levels.

When this fails, insulin injections are required to keep blood sugar levels under control.

Diabetes

Type 1
Usually diagnosed in children, teenagers or young adults. With Type 1 diabetes, insulin is not produced due to a defective pancreas.

Symptoms:
Increased thirst
Increased urination
Weight loss despite increased appetite
Nausea
Vomiting
Abdominal pain
Fatigue
Absence of menstruation

Type 2
Usually occurs in adults. Type 2 diabetes begins with insulin resistance, a condition where fat, muscle and liver cells do not use insulin properly. To counter this, the pancreas will produce more insulin but in time, it loses the ability to produce enough insulin to respond.

Symptoms:
Increased thirst
Increased urination

Fatigue
Blurred vision

Diabetes

For our bodies to work properly, we need to consume sugar which is then convert into energy. To convert the sugar into energy, a hormone called insulin is needed. People with diabetes have an important role in their own medical care, and self-monitoring is an opportunity for people with diabetes to take control of their health and lives.
With diabetes, insulin that is produced by our pancreas is not working properly or no longer produced in sufficient amounts. When this happens, our blood sugar level rises.

There are two main types of diabetes – Type 1 and Type 2. It is important to recognize the signs and symptoms for both as both types can occur simultaneously in the human body.
